Sonnet Models - Why Facebook?
September 11th, 2009The surge of new technologies is significantly altering the future of marketing one’s career. For quite some time, aspiring models have been able to apply for jobs online but still have difficulties nailing down prestigious representation to jump-start their careers.
Facebook has become an international staple in the lives of millions around the world; the massive cross-interaction amongst members allows the chance to achieve global exposure. Models are now able to attract an agent’s attention by securing a high number of votes on the Sonnet Models Facebook application. It’s possible for models to link to their profiles on Sonnet or encourage their friends to share them as favourite models. So be proactive in promoting your careers!
We have recently introduced the Top 5 section on our application page, where members can check out the top five models in all categories - most handsome/beautiful, most sophisticated and most friendly. Have a look at who has taken the lead and then go out there and get your friends to vote for you - soon it could be you at the top!

Sonnet Models Is Now In Partnership With Boxeight Studios In Los Angeles

Sonnet Models has just announced its partnership with Boxeight Studios in Los Angeles. For the “Sonnet Face of the World” modelling competition, which will include one male and one female winner, a photoshoot will take place with top fashion photographer Peter Gurnz of Boxeight Studios.
Sonnet Models is a Cambridge-based company which operates via a Facebook application, the first of its kind. Although not a modelling agency, it’s in partnership with over 22 modelling agencies across the world, including Elite, Click, Diva, Scene and Contempo.
Boxeight Studios is an L.A. based art production company who hosts well-known events in Los Angeles including Boxeight L.A. Fashion Week, the annual art exhibition, “I Think It’s Art, I Think It’s Fashion” as well as other areas covering music, art and special parties. Boxeight is also known for their commercial fashion photography with photographers such as Peter Gurnz and Dirk Mai. These names are synonymous with cool in the L.A. scene.
Currently there are over 4,000 registered models and over 70,000 votes recorded on Sonnet Models. The company launched its Sonnet Face of the World competition on July 1st, 2009 and it has been featured on Forbes.com, Reuters, AOL Business etc.
This is a great chance for undiscovered and aspiring models to gain recognition in the tough industry of modelling. It is also the first of its kind as there is nothing like it before - the innovative design of the application on Facebook that is legitimately in partnership with established modelling agencies across the world, as well as an art production company such as Boxeight.
